Machinery Museum

Machines not only shape our everyday lives – they also have a rich and compelling history.

During our recent visit to the Kiel-Wik Machinery Museum, we took a fascinating journey into the world of historical technologies. Surrounded by old combustion engines, enormous steam-powered machines and rattling tractors, it felt as if bygone eras were alive again.

Beyond the impressive engineering and precise mechanics, we were also struck by the parallels to our daily work in technical translation – a discipline where every word must fit with the same precision as gears in a well-oiled machine.
